OMSI (Oregon Museum of Science and Industry)

OMSI was the last big thing we did while we were there. Ethan had a blast we were there from about 10:30am until about 3pm or so. Ethan wouldn't stop for snacks or lunch or anything! I think he was in Heaven just running from place to place. For the first little while my mom and Steve took Ammon and wandered so I could concentrate on Ethan. Ethan also wanted to see a Planetarium movie about space and Ammon wouldn't have be able to make it through that. After that we all joined up, but it didn't last long because Ethan wouldn't stop for anything. He did his usual run around the room and then go back thing. It was good there were so many adults with us. Someone would follow Ethan and someone else would follow Ammon and the rest could look around. Then we'd switch so we all got to look a little at some stuff.

This was the one thing that held his attention for any length of time. It was outside the Planetarium where we were waiting in line for the show to start.

It had metal balls the size of gumballs just rolling all over the structure. Ethan loved it, the only thing that got him to leave it was when they opened the doors for the "space movie"

This was a puppet stage they had set up. The had a recording of a story teller, telling some African tale and all the puppets were there so kids could perform the play.

This was an interesting thing. The swings made the colored lines on the screen move with the way you were swinging.

Here I am having that problem of not getting both boys to face the same way again.

I think they have some sort of agreement going on. "When mommy's trying to take a picture if I'm looking you look away and if you look I'll look away, okay?"

This is a turbine of some sort, but to Ammon it was a Choo Choo of gigantic proportions and worth a long, long look.

This was inside the Physical Science Department. You're suppose to move the choo choos by using the magnets on the table. Ammon wasn't interested in doing that. He wanted to pry open that box and get the Choo Choos out. FREEDOM!!! Freedom for Choo Choos everywhere!

This was in the Ballroom. I didn't get any good pictures of Ethan in here because he was too busy sucking balls up in vacuum tubes and what not. Ammon was in the stroller and fast getting bored until I found this little treat. It's just some type of nylon and I'd put some balls in there and pull down on the bottom and let it fly! Soon the whole family was in on it and I got to take some pics.

Here's Ammon "helping" to gather the balls up in the nylon bowl. He's actually a pretty good shot!

My mom hamming it up in the Earthquake simulator. I left her eyes red for the extra effect.

Ethan enjoyed the Earthquake very much. Of course in the event of a real one I think he might not think it was so fun.
